[www.inewsguyana.com] – Barbadian Darren Matthews representing Team Coco won the overall cycle race when the National Sports Commission (NSC) 32nd annual three-stage road race continued on Sunday (May 18).
The race started from Kara Kara, Linden and ended on Homestretch Avenue Georgetown, however Guyana’s Paul DeNobrega won the final stage. Matthews registered an overall time of 6:53:18s to win the overall title ahead of Guyana’s Geron Williams, who registered 6:54:23s for second place.
Coming in third and fourth was Marlon Williams and Alanzo Greaves who both finished with 6:54:30s and 6:54:59s respectively.
The winner of the junior category was Akeem Arthur, who registered a timing of 6:56:25s, coming second was Micheal Anthony. Robin Persaud won the veterans title over Junior Niles and Stephen Fernandes, who place second and third.
