A 62-year-old woman had a gun pushed into her mouth whilst armed bandits this morning ransacked her house located at Hummingbird Street, Festival City, Georgetown.
Cheryl Barker told investigators that at around 01:30hrs, she was awakened by the sounds of persons walking in her living room, and as such, she began to scream.
The woman was confronted by three perpetrators, one of whom was armed with a handgun and another with a cutlass.
The bandits pinned the woman to her bed as they demanded cash and jewellery. One of the perpetrators then pushed his gun into the woman’s mouth as the others ransacked the building.
The bandits them made their good escape with some $160,000 in cash, a 32-inch television set, and a Samsung Galaxy phone.
Investigations revealed that the criminals made their way into the woman’s home by removing several louver panes from a window. Investigations are ongoing.
