[www.inewsguyana.com] – At about 21: 00h last night Thursday January 23, 2014, security guards Mortimer Maynard, 45 years, and Trevor Fraser, 42 years, who are attached to a private security service, were in the North Sophia area. Trevor Fraser was armed with a .38 revolver belonging to the security company.
The two security guards were attacked by three men who took away the firearm from Trevor Fraser and discharged three rounds, one of which struck Mortimer Maynard to his left thigh. The perpetrators then escaped with the firearm. Mortimer Maynard has been admitted to hospital for medical treatment. Investigations are in progress.
