Two men are now in the lockups following a daring late night robbery on Monday where they held two vendors at gun-point robbing them of G$500,000 in cash.
Reports are that around 23:00h on the night in question, Wayne Miller, 51, and Darmenna Wong, 43, both vendors at the Bourda Market, Georgetown, were in the vicinity of Orange Walk and Robb Street, Bourda when they were approached by the two perpetrators.
One of the bandits was armed with a handgun and brandished the weapon while demanding cash.
The duo was able to obtain G$500,000 from the two victims who quickly raised an alarm.
INews understands that public spirited citizens managed to apprehend the two men.
The police were summoned and one (1) 9mm pistol and five (5) live matching rounds were found in the possession of one of the suspects.
According to law enforcement officials, the two suspects are in police custody and are said to be assisting with investigations.
