Three persons died and four others were injured during a violent storm at about 15:00hrs yesterday at Jawalla Backdam, Mazaruni River, in Region Seven.
Reports are that there was a heavy downpour of rain with gusting winds during the storm, which saw several trees being uprooted.
At that time, about ten persons were at a farming camp when a large tree nearby suddenly fell and crashed down on the camp, resulting in the death of three persons.
Dead are 34-year-old Celeste Albert, 69-year-old Selina Hope and 25-year-old Godfrena Fredericks, all female farmers of the village.
The four persons injured are 23-year-old Ramesh Michael who suffered a fractured skull, 33-year-old Teddy Richmond, 30-year-old Lamona Hunter, and one-year-old Shanvio Hunter, who also suffered a fractured skull among other injuries.
The injured persons were taken out to Kamarang Hospital and are presently receiving treatment.
