A autopsy conducted on Police Constable, Delroy Argyle has confirmed that he died as a result of pesticide poisoning.
It was reported that Argyle took his own life on Tuesday when he ingested what he told his colleagues was rat poison.
INews understand that the man, who only days ago was involved in an accident, causing the death of 27-year-old, Keiolla Thomas of Clonbrook, East Coast Demerara (ECD), ingested the poison while at work.
However, when the poison began to take effect, Argyle reportedly ran out of the compound of the East Coast Demerara Police Station and collapsed on the roadway.
He was questioned and then promptly rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he died while receiving treatment.
Thomas, an overseas based Guyanese was killed on Monday last (October 29) after the car in which she was travelling in, Toyota Allion bearing registration PWW 5851which was being driven by Argyle, crashed into an electric pole at Bee Hive and toppled into a nearby trench.
Reports are that the Argyle was speeding along the roadway when he lost control of the car.
He however, escaped with minor injuries.
This publication understands that Argyle took his own life because he was having a hard time dealing with the aftermath of the accident that also claimed a life.
