A Chinese couple was robbed by two masked gun-toting bandits last night in the quiet village of Helene #1, Mahaica.
Reports are that around 21:30hrs the husband and wife had just finished locking up their business and were about to leave their premises when the two perpetrators approached them.
One of the gun wielding bandits fired a shot into the air as he demanded that the couple hand over their cash and valuables.
The traumatised couple handed over their monies which totalled $120,000 and an I-Phone to the bandits who quickly made their escape down the dark and lonely road.
INews understands that the street where the chinese couple live was quiet and residents in the area were already inside of their homes when the robbery occurred.
Police ranks were subsequently notified of the crime and investigations are currently on-going.
Up to press time, no arrest has been made in connection with this robbery. (Kristen Macklingam)
