[www.inewsguyana.com] – With the Guyana Elections Commission releasing the raw data of the 2015 General and Regional elections that indicates an APNU+AFC victory, the coalition is calling on its supporters to remain calm.

Despite the lack of the official results, the coalition supporters have begun celebrating both on the streets and on social media.

“A Partnership for National Unity and Alliance for Change Coalition (APNU+AFC) calls on all Guyanese to remain calm and respectful even as we await the official declaration of results of the 2015 elections and the swearing in of David Granger as the next President of Guyana,” a statement noted.

APNU+ AFC says the preliminary results, as announced by GECOM, demonstrates that electorate has come together as Guyanese to elect a Unity Government that will represent the rights of all.

“We call on Guyanese who are celebrating this victory to do so respectfully and within the ambits of the laws of the land.These elections results reflect the spirit of National Unity, which inspired the APNU+AFC campaign.   We call on all Guyanese to ensure that their conduct, in the days ahead, reflects our motto, ‘One People, One Nation, One Destiny’.”

  1. We just want the best for Our beloved Guyana!! Now we are looking forward to changes for the better in our country, just as promised. We hope it won’t be Like the saying, “run from the jumbie n meet up with the coffin” or something like that. Congrats APNU+AFC!!!! Don’t let us down, our development depends on your decisions. To the PPP\C Party, u did a lot for our country, from what it used to be to what it is now!! For that,,,, we r greatful!! Let’s all wait n look out for more changes n development as a new leader takes the post of President Of the Republic of Guyana!!! We as Guyanese want to see growth n unity!!   2. The people are happy to be rid of the evil ppp regime. It’s a new dawning in Guyana. People are optimistic the new president elect Granger and PM elect Nagamotoo will be a more respectful and inclusive gov’t. I’m still worried that GECOm isn’t declaring Granger as the new President. Not smelling good!
