[www.inewsguyana.com] – Michael Anthony took the first prize in the 23rd Annual R&R International 40 mile road race on Sunday, February 9.
Commencing at theDemerara Harbor Bridge, the event saw Anthony clock one hour and 41 minutes.
Attracting over 40 starters, the event saw Paul Denobrega, Geron Williams,Hamzah Eastman, Robin Persaudand Raynauth Jeffrey come in that order.
Anthony also won the junior division.
Raymond Newton rode away with two of the six sprint prizes while one apiece went to Denobrega, Marlon Williams, Jeffrey and Delroy Hinds.
Female rider Toshwanna Doris, mountain biker OziaMcaulayand veteran Persaudall received prizes for winning their respective categories.
The company has sponsored another event on February 22 at the National Park. The event will take the form on an 11 race program.
