[www.inewsguyana.com] – Chairman of Region Two, Parmanand Persaud says he is deeply concerned about the number of suicide cases on the Essequibo Coast as another teenager ended his life by hanging on Friday, January 23 Richmond village.
The Chairman called on religious organizations and social oganisations in the Region to assist in counseling persons who may be suffering from personal issues.
The 18 – year – old teenager, identified as Jamsey Singh known as ‘Fat Boy’ was found dead hanging from a piece of rope in his bedroom. He has been living with his grandmother since he was two years old.
The discovery was made by the grandmother, who had returned home after completing several errands.
The elderly woman is at a loss as to why the young man killed himself. His parents reside overseas. Approximately seven persons on the Essequibo Coast have died by suicide since the year started.
I am so happy someone is political is voicing this long concern of suicide.
