[www.inewsguyana.com] – Senior Superintendent of Police Owen Trotz will later this month return his badge, shoes, clothes and service weapon to the Guyana Police Force. Trotz confirmed that he will be heading into retirement.
Owen Trotz is presently heading the Police E Division which covers Dora Linden Highway, Kwakwani and interior locations. Trotz is the first person to head the police E Division following its delinking from F Division last year.
The two divisions were merged some twenty five years ago and were headed by a Commander and several supporting senior ranks. The retirement of Trotz comes months after a number of senior ranks retired, including the then Commissioner of Police Leroy Brumell. Trotz is also retiring at the time when the Guyana Police Force is celebrating its 175th anniversary.
By the time he officially proceeds on his pre-retirement, he would have completed thirty years and eight months in the Force.
During that stint he served in capacities of a general duty rank, assistant divisional traffic officer, divisional traffic officer, force transport officer, deputy commander and commander. However, his son who is also part of the Force, serving at the level of a constable is expected to carry on the family tradition and rise through the ranks of the organisation.
