A minibus driver was placed before Magistrate Faith Mc Gusty charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
Twenty – eight – year old Layni Sue Chi of Nabaclis East Coast Demerara pleaded not guilty to charge. It is alleged that on February 04 at the
junction of Sheriff Street and Rupert Craig Highway, he drove minibus BRR 1578 in a dangerous manner and caused the death of Heralall
Shivcharran.
Sue Chi was represented by Attorney – at – law Dexter Todd, who made an application for reasonable bail. Todd told the court that his client
was proceeding across the junction on Sheriff Street when Shivcharran, who was on a pedal cycle, rode into the path of his client’s bus.
Based on the circumstances, the Magistrate granted the accused bail in the sum of $250,000 which was later reduced to $200,000. Iyani
