Police are investigating the murder of a 30-year-old unemployed Anna Catherina, West Coast Demerara (WCD) resident whose body was discovered on Monday morning at his home.
Dead is Jason Rejendra Lall Hiria, of Sixth Street, Anna Catherina, WCD.
The incident reportedly occurred between 01:30h and 05:30h on Monday.
According to the police, investigators discovered marks of violence around the deceased’s neck and an autopsy revealed that he died from compression injuries to the neck.
Three persons have since been taken into custody- including the victim’s grandparents and an uncle.
It is alleged by Hiria’s grandfather that the victim- an alleged alcoholic- returned home at about 01:30h in an intoxicated state.
However, at about 05:30h, he was discovered seated motionless on an inside toilet.
According to the police, there was no sign of forced entry into the home.
Investigations are ongoing.
