[www.inewsguyana.com] – Alpha United found their mojo at the right time to top Suriname’s Inter Meongotapoe 3-0 on Wednesday evening at the Guyana National Stadium during their opening game of the Caribbean Football Union Championships.
In front of a small crowd Alpha came out firing, to put pressure on the Suriname side with constant attacks.
However, Daniel Wilson registered the game’s first goal in the 26th minute to end the first half with Alpha on top.
On resumption, Alpha kept the pressure on the Surinamese with Gregory “Jackie Chan” Richardson netting a goal in the 56th minute while Kithson Bain made it 3-0 in the 90th minute.
Alpha United will now face Central FC of Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday at the same venue in hope of ending at the top of their group.
Meanwhile Inter Moengotapoe will face Central FC on Friday at the Guyana National Stadium.
