[www.inewsguyana.com] – Alpha “The Hammer” United lived up to their name by trouncing Black Water FC 17-0 when the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Banks Beer Cup kicked off on Friday at the Guyana Defence Force (GDF), ground.
Dwain Jacobs led the goal scoring barrage with an opener in the 6th minute to lead Alpha with six goals.
Jacobs later scored in the 28th, 56th, 58th, 60th and 83rd minutes while Daniel Wilson scored four goals in the 18th, 22nd, 33th and 70th minutes. Jahaal Greaves also had four goals in the 44th, 55th, 64th and 82nd minutes.
Wayne Ellis (13th), Jacob Stephenson (75th) and Jamal Codrington (90th) were the other goal scorers in the whipping of Black Water.
Meanwhile, Police FC topped Northern Rangers 3-1 as Rawle Haynes netted a double for the lawmen, in the 2nd and 6th minutes, while Andy Gillis scored the other in the 86th. Northern Rangers’ lone goal came from Shawn McCalman in the 35th minute.
