[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Central Corentyne Chambers of Commerce is geared up and ready for the grand opening of the 11th annual Berbice expo and trade fair, which is to be declared open on Friday afternoon, September 18.
This year’s event will be held under the theme “Fostering National Pride, Advancing National Progress” and will run from this evening until Monday at the Albion Sport Complex .At the moment, finishing touches are being added to the set.
The event is expected to be graced with the presence of Minister of Business, Dominic Gaskin and Minister of Tourism, Cathy Hughes along with other dignitaries.
This is the first year the event is being held in September as opposed to the July/ August period. Over the years, the event has been used a vehicle to foster interaction with the business community and consumers.
This year, the Chamber is aiming to boost the economic sector by creating equal opportunities for both small and large businesses. There is an expectation of businesses from the Caribbean to showcase their produce as well. The organizers are also planning to offer a new feature to exposition and trade fair which includes helicopter rides to patrons. The nights are also filled with lively entertainment.
The opening of the grand event is slated for 17:00 hrs; tickets to the event are $500 for adults and $300 for children and are available at Poonai’s Pharmacy Rose Hall Town, Imran and Sons in Rose Hall Town, A Ally and Sons in New Amsterdam, Sookpaul Gas Station in New Amsterdam and Corriverton and Dhanan Gas Station at DeEdward, West Coast Berbice.
