RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil — All three Jamaican women won their heats to proceed to the semi-finals of the women’s 400m, to be held at 6:35pm tomorrow.
Running in Heat 1, Stephenie Ann McPherson clocked 51.36s ahead of the other automatic qualifier — Patience George of Nigeria.
In Heat 7, Shericka Jackson ran to 51.73s ahead of Zambia’s Kabange Mupopo, while Christine Day won in 51.54 seconds.
Americans Allyson Felix, Natasha Hastings and Phyllis Francis also won their races.
