Eight young women took to the stage at the National Cultural Center (NCC) in Georgetown, last Saturday night, to compete for the coveted crown of Miss Guyana Talented Teen 2016.
Aliya Wong proved to be the best of the lot, receiving the Judges nod for the title, with Jerusha Ferrell and Ayana Glasgow gaining first and second runners-up respectively.
The lineup of contestants included Ahiesha Antoo, Anicia Wiliams, Annastacia Boyal, Naiome Bacchus, Ayana Glasgow, Aliya Wong, Geetanjali Nauth and Jerusha Farrell.
All of the contestants performed well before a small but lively crowd in only three segments – introduction, talent and evening gown.The swimsuit segment was not part of the pageant this year.
The Miss Guyana Talented Teen pageant is in its 16th year and was dubbed the ‘sweet sixteen’ pageant. It was held for the first time under a new franchise holder, Wasim Khan, under the name “The Imperial House’.
