[www.inewsguyana.com] A 22-year old Albouystown, Georgetown man is now a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital, after a robbery this morning Thursday October 24.
The injured man has been identified as Christopher Wayne, of 22 C Calendar Street, Albouystown, Georgetown.
iNews understands that Wayne had just stepped out of his home, heading to work, when he was attacked by two men on a bicycle. The men took away his cell phone, silver jewellery and $12,000 cash.
The police related that as the perpetrators were leaving, Wayne picked up a stone with the intention of throwing it at his attackers, when one of the men shot him to his abdomen.
He was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital. He is currently a patient in the Intensive Care Unit and is said to be in stable condition. The gunmen escaped.
