A man (so far unidentified) is currently in the hospital nursing head injuries after he was struck down by a car on the Agricola Public Road, East Bank Demerara, yesterday afternoon.
According to reports, around 14:30 hrs yesterday afternoon, the man who was riding his bicycle proceeded to cross the Agricola Public Road directly in front of the Alpha Hotel when he was struck down by motor car PTT 6262.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Renita Gladstone, was at that time heading in the direction of Georgetown when her car collided with the cyclist.
Public spirited persons rushed to the scene to assist the visibly traumatised woman in taking the injured man to the hospital where he is currently undergoing surgery.
He is said to be conscious but his condition up to late yesterday was said to be critical, after suffering head injuries.
