One woman is now nursing a gash to her head, while a few others are said to be nursing minor wounds following a collision on the La Jalousie, West Coast Demerara (WCD) Public road on Wednesday morning.
Based on information received, the incident occurred at about 07:30h between a Toyota Spacio motorcar (licence plates unknown) and a route 32 minibus, BVV 4757.
INews understands that the white motorcar was proceeding in the direction of Parika, with the minibus a short distance behind, in the same lane.
However, the Toyota Spacio reportedly came to a halt on the road, resulting in the minibus slamming into its rear.
The driver of the minibus reportedly told police that due to the slippery road (caused by early morning rain) he was unable to stop in time.
The injured persons, while INews has not been able to ascertain the exact number, were all passengers of the public transportation.
Meanwhile, another accident was also reported on the Den Amstel public road, one village after La Jalousie, where a man who swerved from hitting a cow, ended up hitting another car before careening into a ditch.
No one was reported injured in this accident.
Investigations into both accidents are ongoing.
