[www.inewsguyana.com] – A meeting between the Executive Members of the Community Policing Groups (CPG) in ‘A’ Division and the Senior Officers of the Police ‘A’ Division on Wednesday (June 18) focused on the importance of good record management in crime fighting.
‘A’ Division Commander, Clifton Hicken who addressed the Executives said that record management was important since the information should be able to transit all departments of the Force so that intelligence can be gathered and results achieved.
He added that record keeping and management goes hand in hand with intelligence gathering since the records can be used to compare past investigations and those that may arise in the future.
The Commander referred to statements by complainants, medical reports, statements by police, witnesses etc. which all form the bases of investigations.
Meanwhile, CPG members representing various areas within A Division spoke of the work they have been doing with the communities and the futuristic plans.
Among the activities are community outreaches, the soliciting of community members to join the CPG, instruction tasks, and academic classes.
