[www.inewsguyana.com] – Cabinet approved several million dollars in contracts when it met earlier in the week, Cabinet Secretary Dr. Roger Luncheon disclosed yesterday.
Among the contracts given the green light by the administration is for the construction of a brick prison at Camp Street Georgetown at a cost of $81.7 million.
In the education sector, cabinet approved a $30.8 million contract for the supply and delivery of dietary supplies to President College for a year.
Also, some $29.7 million was approved for the construction of a nurse’s hostel at the Kwakwani Hospital.
Meanwhile, another $25.8 million was approved for the procurement of four 4×4 pick-ups for the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM).
Cabinet at its weekly meeting would give its green light, as currently mandated by law to several national contracts.
