A pensioner, 74-year-old Henrietta Cadogan, was killed after being struck down by a motor car about 08:45 hrs today, Monday January 18, at One Mile, Wismar in Linden.
According to a police statement, Cadogan of Canvas City, Wismar, Linden, was struck down by a motor vehicle while using a pedestrian crossing. She was taken to the Linden Hospital where she succumbed while receiving medical treatment.
The driver of the motor vehicle, Wendell Smith, has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
Cadogan would have celebrated her 75th birthday on March 24. She is survived by her children and grandchildren.
