The 35 – year – old defendant pleaded guilty to the charge, which stated that on December 28 at La Penitence market, he robbed Kataya DaSilva of his motorcar.
Police Prosecutor, Vishnu Hunt told the Court that on the day in question around 13:00hrs, the Virtual Complainant (VC) was at La Penitence market with his motorcar, PRR 7690 removing some bags from the trunk when he heard the car’s engine.
Upon checking, he saw the defendant in the driving seat of the car. He held onto the side of the car and attempted to hold onto the steering wheel, trying to prevent the defendant from going any further.
The Court heard that the accused then dealt the victim a cuff to his mouth and continued driving the car, dragging the victim several meters away.
