Fifty – one – year old Ryan Benjamin was today found guilty of the offense of robbery. He was sentenced to two years imprisonment when he appeared before Magistrate Ann Mc Lennan.
Benjamin, of 16 Friendship Buxton, East Coast Demerara initially appeared in Court on May 02 before Magistrate Judy Latchman and pleaded not guilty to the offence at that time.
A trial was then conducted, after which he was convicted of the offense. The facts of the case state that on January 4 , he robbed Shenelle Grant of one gold chain, one gold band valued in total of $200,000 and US$20. [Royan Abrams]
