With the second edition of the annual GTM Health and Fitness challenge billed for this weekend at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue forty individuals will match their strength and stamina to see who is the fittest.
Organizer of the event, Jordana Ramsay- Gonsalves, in revealing the plans for the two-day long event which begins on Saturday, said: “We will kick off the event with a cancer awareness glow walk from 18:00hrs with participants assembling at the Courts Main Street branch where they would receive neon t-shirts, glow sticks and glow balloons then proceed up to Church Street, on to Vlissengen Road and then to Homestretch Avenue where the walk will finish in front of the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.”
The organizer went on to add that “immediately after the walk there will be a Zumba party featuring the Zumba Queen, Noshavyah King.” The event has received the blessings of the National Sports Commission with Director of Sport, Christopher Jones acknowledging the attraction and emphasis Guyanese have placed on fitness in recent times and commended the organizers for their contribution to the development of the well being of Guyanese across the country.
