[www.inewsguyana.com] – The file pertaining to the investigation into the shooting in the mouth of 15 – year – old, Alex Griffith by a police Cadet Officer should be forwarded to the Crime Chief today, Friday May 30.
iNews was informed that as part of the investigation, thirty five statements were submitted, along with sixteen exhibits. The statements are from the police and civilians, while exhibits include the ballistic and medical reports .
Chairman of the Police Complaints Authority, Justice Cecil Kennard did not want to go into details about the statements. However, he noted that his recommendations will be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions, through the office of the Police Commissioner.
In the early part of May, a police cadet officer shot Alex Griffith in his mouth while questioning him about a robbery committed on the policeman’s sister. The teen was reportedly brutalized by a party of policemen who responded to the report.
