[www.inewsguyana.com] – A vagrant was sentenced to three years imprisonment by City Magistrate Judy Latchman on a drug trafficking charge.
Forty-one-year old Daro Peters was also fined $30,000 after being found guilty of the offence, which stated that on February 02, he had in his possession two grammes of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
During his first Court appearance, Peters told the Court that he lived “over de river” [West Coast Demerara] but Police Prosecutor, Inspector Shellon Daniels informed the Court that Peters told the Police he resides at Lot 103 Wellington Street, Georgetown.
Peters was unrepresented and incarcerated throughout his trial.
