[www.inewsguyana.com] – Twenty – three – year old Akeem Yorrick was perhaps in the wrong place at the wrong time when he was shot dead in Sparendaam Squatting Area, East Coast Demerara on Wednesday night, August 05.
According to a police report, at about 21:50 hrs, a group of residents confronted a man, whom they accused of being involved in an armed robbery, at his home at Sparendaam Squatting Area.
During the ensuing altercation, the man discharged a round into the group of residents, fatally wounding Yorrick of Prince William Street, Plaisance, East Coast Demerara.
The man escaped and investigations are in progress. Reports however indicate that the young man, who was a mason, was shot while on his way to visit his girlfriend in Plaisance Backdam.
True, so sad..Too many guns in the wrong hands.Hopefully the new government is looking into this
This is indeed sad. May his soul RIP and his family be comforted. Somebody must have gotten a good look at the low life who discharge the round. He will be found hope he don’t get bail.
