The 22-year-old Guyana Power and Light (GPL) technician that succumbed after crashing into a parked truck has been identified as Akeem James and not Jevon James, his brother, as was reported earlier.
The motorcycle is reportedly owned by Jevon James and was being used by Akeem at the time of the accident, as such the documentation and ID found on the vehicle was in Jevon James’ name, leading authorities to presume that it was the same person riding the motorcycle.
Akeem James, met his demise on Tuesday night after crashing into a parked truck on the Reliance Public Road, Essequibo.
Based on reports received, James was traveling along the public road with his brother’s motorcycle when he suddenly lost control and crashed into a truck that was parked facing the opposite direction.
Inews understands that James was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and such suffered severe injuries to his face.
He was subsequently rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
