[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 38 – year – old man of Princes Street, Wortmanville, Georgetown charged with threatening to kill his brother was today placed on $20,000 bail by Magistrate Ann McLennan.
Brian Matthenson pleaded not guilty to the charge, which alleged that on Wednesday, April 9 at Princes Street, he made use of threatening language to Mark Matason where a breach of the peace may be occasioned.
The unrepresented defendant told the Court that he is a teacher at the Campbellville Secondary School. However, Police Prosecutor Dinero Jones indicated to the Court that he was informed by the investigating rank that the defendant is not a teacher. He said this information was confirmed by the School.
The Prosecutor did not object to bail and the accused was bonded to keep the peace pending the determination of the matter. The case was transferred before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry for May 15.
