Two persons are now in Police custody for the gunning down of money changer, Aaron Latchman and his teenage daughter at their Better Hope, East Coast Demerara home on Thursday last.
Based on information received, the two men were arrested on Monday evening while the suspected getaway car was also found and impounded.
INews understands that an illegal firearm and matching ammunition were found in the car. The gun is expected to be sent for ballistic testing so as to determine, if the firearm was used to kill the two people.
However, the police are also on the hunt for another suspect whom the two nabbed bandits had implicated.
When contacted, a senior police rank confirmed that the men arrested and have partially confessed to the heinous crime. He also stated that the third person who was implicated in the murder/robbery might have been the driver of the getaway car.
Nevertheless, the Police are working on every lead that are at their disposal with the aim of bringing justice to the grieving family.
45-year-old Aaron Latchman, called “Star Boy”, and his 18-year-old daughter, Arriana Latchman, of Lot 58 Robert Street North, Better Hope, East Coast Demerara (ECD) were shot during the commissioning of a robbery on Thursday last.
The businessman was reportedly shot thrice and his daughter once. They were both pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
