Two young men are now dead following a fatal accident on the Cornelia Ida (CI), West Coast Demerara public road on Tuesday evening.
Dead are Romeo Henry, 26, of Lot 20 Second Street, Windsor Forest, West Coast Demerara and Doesh Sukhu, 23, of Lot 12 Gap Road, La Jalousie, West Coast Demerara.
According to information received, at around 23:35hrs last evening, the deceased, were in the company of 25-year-old Mohamed Osman of La Jalousie, West Coast Demerara and Rajendra Nandalall, 29, of Windsor Forest, West Coast Demerara.
Osman was reportedly the driver of motor car PSS 413 which was proceeding east along the northern side of the said road at a fast rate of speed.
Police say that as the driver was negotiating a right turn, he lost control of the car. This resulted in it spinning, colliding into a nearby fence and lamp pole on the northern side of the road.
The vehicle then ended up in a yard and came to halt.
The driver and three others were rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where Henry and Sukhu were pronounced dead on arrival.
Osman was admitted for observation and Nandalall was treated and sent away.
Investigations are ongoing.
