[www.inewsguyana.com] – Nineteen – year – old Alton Straker is nursing a gunshot injury to his chest after he was allegedly caught stealing GT&T cables in Coverden, East Bank Demerara early this morning, Wednesday, June 11.
The incident occurred at about 04: 15h. According to the Police, personnel from a Private Security Service responded to a report received that persons were stealing GT&T Cable at Coverden
“Two men were confronted and during effects to arrest them, one of the men was shot and injured to his chest. His accomplice managed to escape.”
Police noted that the injured teen is a resident of Soesdyke, East Bank Demeara. He has been admitted to the GPHC for medical treatment.
Investigations are in progress.
