A total of 151 children graduated from the Guyana Police Force’s academy – Zara Computer Centre (Georgetown Campus) – on Friday.
The graduation ceremony was held at the Officer’s Training Centre, Eve Leary.
Woman Constable Hanover delivered the opening remarks and noted that the ‘summer classes’ commenced on July 17 and concluded on August 12, 2023.
During that ‘summer classes’, students were exposed to Introduction to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Access, all of which were FREE of cost.
Force Training Officer Superintendent Nicola Kendall did the featured address at the graduation ceremony. “The Knowledge you’ve gained during your studies is invaluable, but it’s important to recognise that it’s just the beginning,” she told the graduating class.
Superintendent Kendall congratulated the graduates and reminded them that they are equipped with technical skills and possess the potential to shape the future.
