[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 15 – year – old student from the South Ruimveldt Secondary School appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman on Wednesday October 9, charged with the offence of wounding.
He pleaded not guilty and was placed on $100,000 bail. Given the fact that it is a minor involved, the court hearing was held ‘in – camera’. The young man is accused of stabbing his 14 – year – old schoolmate on October 3 following a row over $20.
The injured lad has been identified by hospital officials as Lennox Simon. iNews understand that during the school’s stipulated lunch break, Simon was involved in an altercation with his attacker, during which he was stabbed with a scissors to his chest.
