[www.inewsguyana.com] – Christaph Braithwaite, a vendor of Bent Street, Werk-En-Rust, Georgetown, charged with robbery was today granted $125,000 bail by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.
He pleaded not guilty to robbing Shavanya Wallace of one Gold Chain valued $25,000 on, Thursday, January 23 at Stabroek, Georgetown.
Police Prosecutor, Michael Grant told the Court that at around 10:00 hrs the virtual complainant was at Stabroek when the defendant pushed her down causing her to receive injuries and relieved her of the Gold Chain.
The accused told the Court that he works hard for a living and that he never saw the VC before.
The prosecutor did not object to bail. He was ordered to lodge his passport and report to Officer Shane Frank, every Friday at 03:00 pm, until March 3.
