[www.inewsguyana.com] – Twelve – year-old Ryan Dias who took off with his 13 – year – old friend, Omar on Christmas Day, returned home on Saturday, December 27.
Dias and Omar both reside at Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown and Dias is a student of the Lodge Secondary School. When iNews contacted the 12 – year – old’s mother, Michelle Dias this morning (December, 29) she explained that at around 17:00 hrs yesterday, her son returned home on his own.
The lad told his mother that he was taken to between ‘A’ Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown by his friend Omar. Omar has still not returned home.
Ryan will be taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation for a medical examination.
Omar is known for running away from home for weeks. Officials from the Child care & Protection Agency are at the home of Omar’s family as they investigate this incident and follow up on another matter that the teen has before the agency.
iNews also spoke to Ryan Dias via telephone and he said, “I don’t know why I run away but I am ok.”
The lad’s mother said she is thankful to everyone who reached out to her and showed concern and support to the family during their distress.
