The Guyana Police Force today handed out bursaries and awards to 114 students.
The beneficiaries are the children of members of the Police Force. Of the 114, ten received special awards for outstanding performances.
Assistant Chief Education Officer for Primary, Marcel Hutson congratulated the students for attaining high grades at the Grade Six Assessment.
Hutson urged the students to remain dedicated to their studies. He also used the opportunity to laud the dedication of teachers while noting that there are still some who view their job as just a source of income.
Acting Commissioner of Police Leroy Brumell congratulated the parents for working with their children to make them successful and told the children that they have only just begun their educational journey. [Nickhail Jaundoo]
