[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 10 – year – old Sophia boy was found around 9:30hrs Sunday morning (March 30) hanging from a rope by his mother.
The child has been identified a Daquan Hunt of Downer Canal, North Sophia, Georgetown.
Hunt was rushed immediately to the Georgetown Public Hospital and is currently a patient at the institution.
He has not yet related the full details of the incident. However, it has left relatives in disbelief and stunned that he may have attempted suicide.
One relative, who opted to speak to iNews (www.inewsguyana.com) speculated that it may have been an accident.
The relative said moments before Hunt was found hanging, he was seen running in the yard. He was discovered after his mother called him for breakfast and she did not hear or see him.
“I don’t know, I think it was probably a prank, you know children… and this is what happened.”
The rope he was found hanging from was tied beneath the veranda of the house and was used to hang laundry.
The mother has been taken into police custody as an investigation into the incident gets underway. iNews (www.inewsguyana.com) will provide more details as it becomes available.
