One man was fatally stabbed while another is injured following an argument at Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara (EBD) on Sunday evening.
The identity of the dead man is still to be determined but according to information received, he had just left a wedding house in the area when he got into an argument with a group of men.
This publication was informed that the argument quickly escalated into a scuffle and then the deadly attack.
The now dead man suspected to be a resident of Soesdyke EBD, was stabbed several times about the body including his abdomen.
The injured man was reportedly stabbed twice and is a patient at the Georgetown public hospital.
INews was informed that two persons including a member of the community policing group were arrested and are assisting with investigations.
Meanwhile, persons in the area are accusing the members of the policing group of also beating the now dead man.
One woman told this publication that the now dead young man was placed in the police vehicle but later jumped out.
He was allegedly left on the roadway until another police vehicle responded to the report.
He was then taken to the diamond diagnostic center where he was pronounced dead.
Investigations are ongoing.
