[www.inewsguyana.com] – The security forces of Guyana will clash in October to decide who the better athletes are when the Inter Services Athletics Championship also known as the Joint Service Sports is held.
With a bit over a month to go, the dates of the event havebeen confirmed for October 14 through 17 at the Guyana Defence Force (GDF), Camp Ayanganna Ground.
With both the Guyana Police Force and the GDF already holding their separate championships to have a better idea of their teams heading into the event, the two powerhouse teams now seemed primed for a head on collision.
While GDF has shown more fight over the past couple of years, picking up a championship win here and there, the Police men and women have remained the dominant of the two major teams.
This year seems no different as Police dominated the Boyce/Jefford Track and Field Classic and will have most of the athletes at the Classic ready to compete for the force come October.
With GDF being the host this year, the military men and women will hope to stage a massive renaissance on home turf to dethrone the Police Force.
The two other teams expected to compete and normally brings up the rear are the Guyana Fire Service and The Guyana Prison Service.
