[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Police in C Division, East Coast Demerara are coming in for high praises from an East Coast Demerara businessman after they responded promptly to his distress call.
At about 8:30 hours this morning [Thursday, July 10] while in the Mon Repos Market, businessman Rajdeo Tajpaul was conducting business when he was approached by a gunman, who snatched $4 Million dollars from him and attempted to flee.
iNews was reliably informed that the police while traveling in the vicinity were alerted to the crime and given the description of the gunman. The police saw a crowd of persons and when they approached, a male of African descent began running, as he dropped a black plastic bag in the process.
The police picked up the bag and continued giving chase. He was arrested and a gun was found on his person. The suspect is also wanted by the police in connection with two other armed robberies on the East Coast of Demerara.
