Three charged with murder of Jason Cort

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Three men were charged on Monday, June 29 with the murder of Jason Cort, who was gunned down in his home on June 17.

Twenty-seven-year old Stancey Rodney, a Mason, of Lot 24 Guyhoc Park; 33 –year – old Linton Eastman, a Miner, and 30 – year – old Clifton Gibson of Perry Street, Tucville, all of Georgetown, were not required to plead to the indictable charge before Magistrate Ann McLennan.

Gibson was represented by Attorney-at-law, Peter Hugh while the others were unrepresented. Hugh said that his client has no pending or prior matters.

No facts were read by Police Prosecutor Dinero Jones, who informed the court that statements are still incomplete in the matter.

The trio was remanded to prison and the matter will be called again on July 17.

iNews had reported that 27 – year old Cort of Jamoon Drive, Meadow Brook Gardens was gunned down in his home shortly after returning from an outing with his girlfriend.

The murder of Cort, an Accountant of the Rubis Gas Station at Providence, occurred at approximately 22:30 hrs. He was immediately rushed to the Balwant Singh’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

  1. I am suggesting the new administration build a high tech jail some where in the jungle for these people. They don’t deserve to be any where in camp street, I cannot believe they took that young man’s life from him what a waste….when I read that article I was very sad.
