The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) today expressed condolences to the relatives and friends of the late Professor Dr. Perry Mars who was brutally murdered in his home last Thursday.
In a press release issued today, the party stated that it is deeply saddened by the killing of Dr Mars who was also a friend of former President Dr Cheddi Jagan and functioned in the capacity as President of the Guyana Peace Council during that time.
“Dr. Mars spoke at many lectures and symposia organised under the auspices of the Guyana Peace Council. His participation attracted appreciable audiences and his contributions were always erudite, scholarly and easily understood by all. The PPP will continue to demand greater improvements in the area of public safety and security,” the statement added.
