A father of four of Airy Hall Village on the Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) was discovered yesterday afternoon floating in a trench.
Reports are that 53-year-old Latchman Persaud, called ‘Lall’, left home about 13:00hrs yesterday (Wednesday) to go fishing. INews was told that family members became worried after Persaud did not return home some four hours later. As such, relatives and close friends began searching for him. His family’s worst fears were confirmed when the man’s body was spotted about 17:00hrs floating in a trench in the backdam.
An alarm was raised and the Police was informed. They visited the scene and the body were examined. No marks of violence were noticed. The body was taken to the Suddie Public Hospital. An autopsy will be conducted shortly.
